Jon has been practicing law in Arlington since 2000, focusing on civil litigation and helping businesses with commercial transactions. He is an experienced trial lawyer who practices in both state and federal courts in Virginia, DC and Maryland. He is also an experienced transactional lawyer, negotiating and drafting various contracts for individuals and businesses of all sizes.

Jon’s areas of expertise include banking, finance, insurance, securities, employment, real estate, construction, business formations, governance and operations, bankruptcy, and commercial creditor rights.

In addition to his work as a client advocate, Jon acts as a neutral in legal disputes. He is a Commissioner in Chancery for the 17th Judicial Circuit of Arlington County and the City of Falls Church, has been appointed as a Special Commissioner of Sale in both the 17th Judicial Circuit and the 19th Judicial Circuit for Fairfax County, is an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, and is a Virginia certified General District Court mediator.

Jon grew up in the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio where he nurtured his love for heartbreaking sports teams. He moved to the desert sunshine of Tucson, Arizona for college, obtaining his B.A. from the University of Arizona. He then decided to give the East Coast a try, moving to Washington, DC, and subsequently going to law school at George Mason University School of Law in Arlington, Virginia, where he earned his J.D.

Jon is married and has two children. He is an avid cyclist who loves mountain biking, gravel grinding, hill climbing, bike-packing, and just merely riding along. Jon also enjoys being involved in his community as the Williamsburg Civic Association’s Neighborhood Conservation Representative to the Arlington County Neighborhood Conservation Advisory Committee.
